The ex-girlfriend of San Francisco 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster said she lied about accusations Foster abused her during a February incident at Foster's home in Los Gatos, Calif., according to a report by "The Sacramento Bee."

A former Alabama linebacker, Foster was charged with three felonies including domestic violence, attempting to prevent the victim from reporting the crime and possession of an assault weapon on April 15 stemming from the alleged incident.

According to a statement from Foster’s 28-year-old former girlfriend’s attorney Stephanie Rickard secured Wednesday, the woman’s injuries sustained during the incident originated in a fight with another woman, not Foster.

Rickard also said there is a video of the confrontation which exonerates Foster.

“(Foster) did not strike her, injure her or threaten her,” Rickard said, according to “The Sacramento Bee.” “She said Foster tried to end the relationship with her after learning of the fight. She was extremely upset and told him if he broke up with her she would ‘Trash his career.’”

After Foster being charged with three felonies, the 49ers announced Foster would not participate in team activities, but was still part of the team.

Foster has a plea hearing scheduled for April 30, according to the New York Daily News.
