Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston has been accused of groping a female Uber driver in 2016.

Winston’s representatives denied the claim Friday that the former Florida State quarterback grabbed the crotch of an Uber driver in the early morning of March 13, 2016.

"We categorically deny this allegation,” Winston’s representatives said in a statement, according to Buzzfeed. “It is our understanding the Uber driver was unable to identify the specific individual who allegedly touched this driver... The only reason his name is being dragged in to this is that his Uber account was used to call the ride."

In a letter from the NFL special counsel for investigations obtained by BuzzFeed, the League said they were informed of the incident.

“The league takes allegations of this nature very seriously and has opened an investigation into this matter,” the statement said, according to Buzzfeed.

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said the accusation is under review, according to Bleacher Report.
