Here’s what Falcons line backer Sean Weatherspoon had to say on his first day back with the Falcons:

ON BEING BACK: "It's great to be back. This is a place where I feel like I can be myself. It just worked out."

ON HIS RECOVERY FROM ACHILLES SURGERY: "It's just been a long road. It's been about a year (since the injury). I really just stuck to the grind and kept on working. I got married in June. I wanted to healthy by my wedding. I thought I was healthy then, but around training camp it just wasn't ready."

ON HIS ROLE: "I definitely have a role with Keith Armstrong (on special teams), so I'm excited about that. We'll figure out everything from there. I look forward to playing."

ON IF HE'S BEEN WATCHING THE 2017 FALCONS: "The first three games were pretty awesome. Then the last three when you come out on the other side of the column, it's a little bit rough. Ultimately, you just see a whole lot of talent. You just feel like you can come in and use your voice a little bit and just kind of keep everybody a little bit more loose and relaxed. I think that's something that we can do."

ON WAITING TO SIGN: "It doesn't feel like work when you have a job like this and you come into this environment."

ON IF HE CAN STILL HELP THE TEAM:  "I know that I can definitely bring the energy level, but I'm hoping that I can bring some explosiveness to it to. Like (Dan Quinn) said, in my workout I felt pretty good. I did some good things. I look forward to it translating and putting it on the field."
