Patriots coach Bill Belichick had some kind words for Atlanta and Georgia Tech football during his farewell press conference on Monday.

Belichick spoke hours after the Patriots defeated the Rams, 13-3, in Super Bowl LIII at Mercedes Benz Stadium.

“I can’t say enough about the hospitality from the city of Atlanta,” Belichick said. “They were just incredible. As we left our hotel, and went back and forth to Georgia Tech, just the number of volunteers on the street.

“I heard personally from friends and family that were here just the number and amount of man power that was mobilized to help make this such a great event, to handle the visitors was truly some Southern hospitality. I think we all felt that.”

The Patriots stayed downtown for most of the week and practiced at Georgia Tech.

“The Hyatt did a tremendous job for us,” Belichick said. “Certainly, Georgia Tech was great. We, fortunately, have had the opportunity to do this a few times and Georgia Tech was a great facility. Coach (Geoff) Collins and his staff were so accommodating for us. So, it was a great part of the experience.”
