Florida State and South Florida announced Monday a home-and-home football series that will pit the Seminoles against the Bulls in the 2015 and ’16 seasons.

The Bulls will travel to Tallahassee in 2015, while the Seminoles will play in Tampa in 2016. Both games are tentatively set for September.

Florida State and South Florida have played twice, with the Bulls winning 17-7 in 2009 in Tallahassee. The Seminoles won 30-17 in Tampa last season.

There was a high demand for tickets for last year’s game in Tampa. Many Seminoles fans were even buying up South Florida’s season tickets just to have a seat for the game, which drew a USF-record crowd of69,383.

While Florida State has been criticized over the years for its easy non-conference schedule, it has worked to strengthen its schedule in recent months. The Seminoles will play Oklahoma State in Arlington, Texas, to open 2014, and also will play host to Notre Dame. FSU also will face Boise State in 2019 and ’20.
