Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray talked with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution about recovering from last season and looking ahead to a new one:
Q: Does the SEC Championship game loss still haunt you, as you once said it did?
A: It definitely has gotten easier. The first couple of months was tough, but we've put that behind us. I'm so excited about this year that I don't even want to think about last year. That's in the past. It's a fresh, new start for everyone in the country, no matter what happened last year. Losing record, winning record, tipped pass, whatever happened is in the past. These are completely new teams, and I'm very excited about this team and what we can do this year.
Q: You lost so many defensive veterans off last year’s team. Is it realistic that you could get back into that situation?
A: It's tough, but I think we could still do it this year. I think last year built our confidence, and I think this is a great team. I'm very excited. You never know. You never know when the opportunity is going to show itself. It showed itself last year, and we were very close to winning it. We may or may not get back this year, but I think we'll have a great opportunity to. I think we have great talent, great leadership, great work ethic. We're experienced, and we know what it takes to get to the championship game. We've just got to finish this time. You only get so many opportunities to win championships, and you have to take advantage of them when you can.
