Atlanta United (5-4-3) will play at Vancouver (5-6-1) on Saturday at BC Place. It will be televised on Fox Sports Southeast.

The Five Stripes have won two consecutive games, while the Whitecaps have lost two of three.

Nick Dasovic is an analyst for Vancouver. His impressive career includes playing professionally for 19 years and earning 63 caps for Canada. He is on twitter @nickdasovic04.

He took a few minutes to answer five questions ahead of Saturday’s game.

1. Vancouver is close to having a winning record despite its leading goal-scorer, Fredy Montero, having just four goals. How is the team 5-6-1?

A: VWFC were involved early in the year in in the CONCACAF Champions league semifinals, which can be physically and emotionally draining. Carl Robinson was looking for a consistent lineup and formation and it took a few games to find the right one. The Whitecaps have been much better in their new tactical set up. They have also been unlucky in front of goal: the last game vs. D.C. United they hit the crossbar and post four times.

2. It seems that the team’s other DP, Brek Shea, is starting to find a good form again. What has been the key for him and what does he bring to the team?

A: Like any new player, it takes time to learn the system and get comfortable with your new teammates. Brek is on his way back to full fitness and he has some strong performances in the past few weeks. His ability to play in a number of positions has helped Robinson’s flexible lineup. He has been involved directly and indirectly in much of the Whitecaps’ attacking opportunities. He can get in behind defenders with his physical prowess but also has the ability to hold the ball up.

3. What is the matchup to watch?

A: A key matchup will be between Miguel Almiron and Matias Laba in the middle of the park. Laba will be the defensive central midfielder and his job will be to limit Almiron’s influence in the game by applying pressure whenever Almiron gets on the ball.

4. For Atlanta United fans coming to Vancouver, what are the must-see spots?

A: Atlanta fans can to have a walk or a bike ride on the sea wall at “Stanley Park,” which is located in the heart of Vancouver. If anyone from Atlanta is up for a hike, the “Grouse Grind” is a great way to get a work out and end with an unbelievable view of the city. Granville Island is a great location to grab some food and take in some sights.

5. Score Prediction on the game?

A: Vancouver had a Canadian Championship semifinal on Tuesday in Montreal in which they lost 4-2, knocking them out. Robinson played a younger team and rested some of his first team players so fatigue should not be a factor in the game vs. Atlanta. If Vancouver can be defensively strong, particularly in the transition phase, I think they can get a positive result from the game.

It’s definitely a matchup that soccer supporters in Vancouver a looking forward to.
