While sharing her stance on legalized marijuana, Senator Kamala Harris admitted she previously smoke weed.

During an appearance on The Breakfast Club Monday, the radio hosts asked the Democratic presidential candidate about the controversial topic. She debunked the myth that she opposes legalized marijuana.
“That’s not true,” she declared. “I joke about it. Half of my family is from Jamaica. Are you kidding me?”
When asked if she had ever smoked the drug, she said, “I have, and I inhaled.”
She explained that it happened in college “a long time ago” and said “it gives a lot of people joy and we need more joy.”
The politician also discussed her taste in music. One of the hosts specifically asked her what she listened to when she was high.
“Definitely Snoop [Dogg],” Harris responded. “Tupac, for sure.”
Once people caught wind of her interview, many chimed in on Twitter with their thoughts. Several pointed out discrepancies in her timeline. Although she said she was listening to Snoop Dogg and Tupac in college, she graduated from Howard University in 1986, according to the school's magazine. Snoop Dogg's first studio album was released in 1993, and Tupac's first was released in 1991.
Others didn’t seem to have a problem with her timeline. They said she was being “relatable” and appealing to the youth.
And a few questioned her viewpoint on legalized marijuana, which has reportedly changed throughout the years. According to CNN, she expressed opposition in 2010, then voiced support for medical marijuana legalization five years later.
On Monday evening, she took to Twitter to clarify where she stands on the topic. “Let me be clear: it’s time we legalized marijuana at the federal level,” she wrote.
