On May 13, he came home from work and found the box was gone. He has a surveillance camera in his room. When he reviewed the video footage it showed a man wearing a dress with a shirt draped over his head covering his face.

He seemed to know exactly where the camera was placed. He crept toward it and moved it out of the way. Crockett said the thief left with the box of ashes.

"I don't understand how someone is capable of doing something like that," said Willy Crockett.

"I can't fathom why someone would do something like that or not even try and bring it back when they realize what it is," added Crockett.

Crockett's father, William Crockett, died a year and half ago. He lived on Long Island when Hurricane Sandy hit.  He died days later when he was cleaning up his yard.

Willy Crockett has four siblings all of them want the remains returned. Willy Crockett said his house was burglarized in February. He thinks it's possible the crimes are connected, something police are considering too.
