1. Criminal charges for Gwinnett cops captured in videotaped beatings. Criminal warrants have been issued for two former Gwinnett County police officers videotaped punching and kicking a man after a traffic stop. Sgt. Michael Bongiovanni and Master Officer Robert McDonald have each been charged with misdemeanor battery and violating their oath of office, a felony, official said. 2. Man involved in Lake Lanier crash that killed brothers back in jail. The man who was boating drunk when he caused a crash that killed two Gwinnett County brothers is back in jail for failing a urine test and violating his parole, according to police and the Hall County District Attorney. 3. ESPN lays off 100 employees including on-air talent, reporters. ESPN laid off close to 100 employees on Wednesday. Several on-air personalities and reporters tweeted about losing their jobs. "…A limited number of other positions will also be affected and a handful of new jobs will be posted to fill various needs," ESPN President John Skipper said in a statement to employees. [Read more]

4. Judge sends Tex McIver to jail after gun found in condo. A Fulton County judge on Wednesday sent Tex McIver to jail after a Glock pistol turned up in the condo of the prominent Atlanta attorney charged with killing his wife. The decision by Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney puts McIver behind bars. But McBurney said he is open to releasing McIver soon under more restrictive bond conditions. [Read more]
