Q: Public Broadcasting recently had one of its fundraising campaigns with “Poldark” and “Last Tango in Halifax.” Will these series be continued at the point where they last aired or will they be abandoned?

—Eloise S. Pino, Marietta

A: The shows were part of Public Broadcasting's national prime-time lineup.

“Poldark,” based on the novels by Winston Graham, aired from June 21 to Aug. 2. “Masterpiece Theater” has renewed the series for a second season (filming started in September), but PBS hasn’t set an airdate, spokeswoman Jennifer Rankin Byrne told Q&A on the News.

“Poldark” is about Ross Poldark, an 18th century British man who returns home after fighting in the American Revolution.

The third season of “Last Tango in Halifax,” the story of the romance Celia Dawson and Alan Buttershaw, aired June 28 through Aug. 2.

The BBC has confirmed plans for a fourth season, but PBS hasn’t announced if or when it will air in the U.S.

Q: How did Kelly Gissendaner’s husband die? I have seen a lot of stories on how she died. How did the person who she had kill her husband do it?

—Al Cooper, Atlanta

Q: Gregory Owen, Gissendaner's boyfriend at the time, hit her husband Doug Gissendaner in the head with a nightstick and then repeatedly stabbed him in the back and neck in February 1997, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has reported.

Owen testified that the plot was Kelly Gissendaner’s idea and that she dropped him off at her house so he could surprise Doug Gissendaner.

Owen then drove him into a remote area in eastern Gwinnett County.
