Georgia’s tax collections jumped about 12 pecent in March thanks partly to an increase in income tax collections.

Gov. Nathan Deal said Tuesday that the state’s net tax collections for March totaled $1.32 billion. That’s an increase of nearly $144 million from the same period last year.

Net tax collections for the fiscal year have increased nearly $705 million, or about 6 percent, compared to the same point last year.
