Cobb County PARKS is using around $82 million for revitalization, facility renovations and upgrades to parks and facilities from the 2012-15 SPLOST. Here is a list of current projects:

Bells Ferry Park: Field renovations and concession building improvements have been assessed and prioritized. The new irrigation system for fields 1 to 3 was bid July 9. Grading work on the fields will be accomplished by PARKS staff.

Civic Center: Interior demolition has been completed. Interior masonry work has started, and the majority of the door frames are installed on the lower level. The roof demolition at the tie-in point between the existing building and the expansion at the front of the building have been completed. Footing excavation for the addition has started.

Fullers Park: Infields on fields 2, 3 and 5 are being regraded. Regrading, fixing arcs and resodding, as necessary, are in progress.

Lost Mountain Park: Construction of the new restroom pod at the upper hub and the football concession/restroom building are continuing. Interior and exterior finishes are underway. Irrigation work has started in the upper hub, and the football field has been laser graded.

Mud Creek Soccer Complex: Field renovations have been assessed. Turf planning started the week of June 8.

Nickajack Park: Construction of improvements was approved by the county commissioners on April 14, and contracts are completed. Construction is scheduled to start shortly. Rewiring of the lighting at the tennis courts is completed. New concrete poles and light fixtures were installed previously on the courts.

Noonday Creek Park: The design for the new district office has been completed.

Perry Parham Park: Construction of a new concession building was bid in May and approved by the county commissioners on June 9. The existing concession building will be demolished and replaced.

Powder Springs Park: Demolition and clearing have been completed. Installation of the storm drain is complete, the fields are being stripped and the water and sewer lines installation is completed. The concession building slab is poured, and block work is nearing completion. Fields are being graded, and sports field lighting is being installed.

Sweat Mountain Park: Plans for improvements have been completed. Construction was submitted to Purchasing June 16 with a bid date of July 23.

Tramore Park: Construction of the new concession/restroom building continues. The roof is installed with mechanical, electrical and plumbing rough-in completed. Interior and exterior finish work is moving forward. Gutters and downspouts are installed. Construction for the addition to the existing maintenance building has begun, and erosion control installation has been completed.
