Clinton most qualified to ever run for office
I understand that some Georgians do not like Hillary Clinton. I am not one of them. I have admired and supported her for 30 years. I think she is a very intelligent, gracious, good, accomplished and highly competent individual. I agree with President Obama that she is the most qualified individual to ever run for the office of President. We do not have a religious test for office-holding in this country, something many people seem to need to be reminded of. Nonetheless, Clinton’s lifelong Methodism is icing on the cake for a Methodist like me. I also support her platform that would create jobs rebuilding America’s crumbling infrastructure, improve the Affordable Care Act, provide tuition-free college for many students, increase taxes on the rich and reduce them on the middle-class, keep us out of further troops on the ground in the Middle East, appoint liberal Supreme Court Justices, and care for the poor, weak and disenfranchised among us. Her focus is on the myriad of good things about this great country.

Debates have sunk to new lows
Let’s drop the pretense that the presidential debates are true political discourse or policy discussions. Because of the way campaigns are run, especially in this election cycle, they have become nothing more than glorified trading of insults and innuendoes.
The second debate in particular sunk the process to new lows. As much as I like and respect Chris Wallace, maybe he should step aside as moderator of the third debate. Jerry Springer or Maury Povich might be a better choice to referee what’s sure to be another sideshow.
