Trump’s skills should please all of us
Like you Democrats, in the beginning I didn’t like him one bit. I thought he was a womanizer and a big mouth, a crass braggart. And you know what, maybe we were right! The man, like all of us, has a downside. But I am convinced Donald J. Trump loves this country. No matter which side of the aisle you come from or where you fall on the political spectrum, most reasonable people agree Trump is a born negotiator, the world’s undisputed champion. The title of his book spells it out: “The Art of The Deal.” Every American, black or white, Democrat or Republican, whether you personally like him or not, should get behind his efforts to get our country the best deals possible in the global marketplace. Some people say we should put the brakes on him. I say let’s not restrain him. We should let him run as fast and as far as he can go and then watch the benefits spill over to our entire nation. Give the man a chance. May God bless America, and may he bless President Donald J. Trump!

Gov’t. benefits reach all, not just Dems
There are times that either an entire letter or a portion thereof featured in Readers Write just rubs the wrong way or simply does not make sense. The letter “Idea for voting change would skewer liberal Dems” (Readers Write, March 27) does both. I’m at a loss to understand the thinking and conclusion drawn in a portion of the letter which has no connection to the body. The writer implies that only liberals are the recipients of government benefits. I encourage the writer to explore the county where he resides more closely or maybe visit a few other counties in Georgia, other areas throughout the Southeast and maybe Appalachia. Furthermore, I submit to the writer to explore the writings of Alexander Pope who eloquently wrote in 1711, “A little learning is a dangerous thing.”
