One suspect in football game shooting in south Fulton turns himself in

One of the two men sought in connection to a deadly shooting at a Fairburn high school earlier this month has turned himself in, Channel 2 Action News reported Saturday.

Eric Dana Johnson Jr. turned himself in at the Fulton County Jail Friday night, according to Channel 2. The 18-year-old was named a suspect in the case Wednesday in connection to the Oct. 3 shooting death of Kristofer Hunter at Langston Hughes High School.

Though a student at McClarin High School in College Park, Hunter had been at Langston Hughes High’s homecoming game to reunite with friends.

Officials from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office said Johnson waived his first court appearance Saturday morning. His next appearance is scheduled for Oct. 24.

Fulton County school police are still looking for a second person in connection to the case. Thursday, they obtained an arrest warrant for 19-year-old Antione "Twon" Stephion Battle, described as black, 5-foot-six-inches tall and 150 pounds.

Officials say Battle should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information as to his whereabouts is asked to call police.

Fulton school authorities tightened up security Friday in response to threats made through social media late Thursday. District spokeswoman Susan Hale said the threat was targeted toward specific individuals about a separate incident unrelated to last week's shooting.
