Police are looking for a shooter who opened fire at a graduation pool party, killing one teenager and injuring four others.
Witnesses told WSB there were more than 200 people at the party at a home in Fayette County, Georgia Saturday night.
As soon as the disc jockey said that someone drugged his daughter's drink, security guard Antonio Gibson took control.
“I immediately got on the mic, and I shut the party completely down,” Gibson said.
As hundreds of teens poured into the street on Highway 279 in Fayetteville, police said a fight broke out amongst some teens.
“At around 12:30-ish, I heard 15 gun shots go off. I told everybody to get down,” Gibson said.
Five people were shot, according to police.
One of the party-goers tweeted, "Next thing we know, there was shooting, so we running, and the group of guys running with us and one dude right next to us got shot."
Wali Clanton, 19, of Stockbridge, died during the shooting.
Four other people were shot and had non life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Clanton was a freshman at Kentucky State University, his family said. He was living out his dream of playing college basketball.
“He was just an outstanding kid,” Clanton’s father said. “He was always just on a high level, just very outspoken, just a very good kid.”
All of the family members told WSB they had not yet been allowed to see Clanton.
“I still don't believe he's gone because they won't let me see him,” his grandmother said. “I just want to see him, touch him.”
“I was just told that I couldn't see my baby until his body got shipped to Florida,” Clanton’s mother added.
Clanton grew up in Florida, and was only supposed to be in Georgia for a few weeks, his family said.
His mother said he was watching a movie Saturday night, when a friend invited him to the pool party.
He kissed his mother goodbye.
“He always kisses her on the cheek,” Panko said. “This time he kissed her on the mouth, and said he'll be back, but [we haven’t] seen him yet.”
A witness told WSB that he and a police officer tried to save Clanton.
“For this young man to die in our arms like that, I just want his family to know that this officer went the extra mile to save your son,” Clinton Nash said.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
