Football fever is taking hold of the country, especially in Columbus, Ohio, where some of college football's most dedicated fans live.

Case in point: Ohio State Buckeyes fans drained the battery life of their FitBits (figuratively speaking) when they walked 19 miles to spell out O-H-I-O on Google Maps over the weekend.

Reddit user @orweezy posted the photo to the Columbus page Monday.

"My coworker friends and thought it would be cool to start off the football season by mapping and walking the Ohio Script this past weekend and using the stadium as the 'I' dotting," @orweezy said.

The journey took the crew six-and-a-half hours.

Fielding questions from Reddit users, @orweezy said that after 8 miles they had some second thoughts. "'You know this would have been better if we biked it.' It took us 6 and a half hours of walking but we made a few bar stops so from 6:30 a.m. through 2:45 p.m."

That's certainly one way to tailgate.

There was a discussion of making it an annual (biking) tradition and even doing it in the name of charity on Reddit.
