A woman escaped a close call Wednesday morning after debris came flying off the highway and through her windshield.

State police say the incident happened around 11 a.m. As the 67-year-old woman was driving on I-91 north a four-by-four piece of lumber fell off a car traveling in front of her.

A truck then hit the wood, causing it to pop up into the air and through the woman’s windshield.

Police said this should serve as a reminder for all people to secure any loads in their cars or trucks.
