Gen. Hawk Carlisle said in a speech this week that an Islamic State group headquarters was destroyed by U.S. forces using key location information found in a selfie photo posted on social media.
Airmen at Hurlburt Field, Florida, found an image posted on social media with a person bragging "...about command and control capabilities for Da'esh, ISIL." A building in the photo apparently gave away the location of the building.
"The guys that were working down out of Hurlburt, they're combing through social media and they see some moron standing at this command," Air Force General Hawk Carlisle said in an interview with Defense Tech.
