Woodstock has announced road closures and a traffic control plan for July 4, Independence Day, with its annual offerings of a road race, parade, festival and fireworks display.

From 7 to 8:45 a.m., Main Street/Rope Mill Road will be closed from Ga. 92 to Woodstock Elementary School for the Freedom Run Race, which starts at 7:15 a.m. The road will reopen briefly around 8:45 a.m. and then close at 9:45 a.m.

The parade steps off at 10 a.m., and the street is to reopen around 11:30 a.m. A festival in the Park at City Center begins after the parade and is to go until 3 p.m.

The fireworks show at dusk will take place at the Target Shopping Center on Ga. 92. After the show, police will direct motorists parked south of Ga. 92 to turn right onto Ga. 92 and travel east. Those parked north of Ga. 92 will be directed to turn right onto the highway and travel west.

No left turns or U-turns will be permitted on Ga. 92 until the streets and parking lots are clear.
