The Woodstock City Council has approved applying for state grants to pay for more than $300,000 in improvements this spring to two city streets.

The Local Maintenance and Improvement Grants of the Georgia Department of Transportation would go toward resurfacing and striping 0.8 miles of Main Street, from Ridgewalk Parkway to the city limits; and 0.75 miles of Dupree Road, from Main to the city limits.

The Main Street project is expected to cost $171,600; and the Dupree Road work, $160,875, according to a staff report prepared for a recent Council meeting. Both jobs are expected to be let April 1.
