A candlelight vigil will be held Thursday night for Jenna Wall, a Cobb County kindergarten teacher allegedly killed by her mother-in-law.

The vigil will start at 8:45 p.m. at Lost Mountain Park on Dallas Highway. Those attending are asked to park in the large lots beyond the Boots-Ward recreation building and gather at the football fields.

Wall, 35, died June 23 when she was shot in the kitchen of her family's home near Powder Springs, according to police. Her mother-in-law, Elizabeth Wall, was arrested the same day and charged with murder. Elizabeth Wall, 63, is being held without bond in the Cobb jail.

Hundreds attended the funeral Tuesday for Jenna Wall, a Kemp Elementary School teacher and the mother of two boys.

Raised in west Cobb, Wall was an athlete and honor student at Harrison High School, where she was also the yearbook editor and involved with student government. She graduated from UGA with a degree in sociology and psychology and worked in sales and management for several years before returning to Mercer University to earn a teaching certificate.
