A balloon launched from Snellville honoring veteran Stephen Callahan was found Nov. 12 by U.S. Army Col. Stephen W. Bachinski and retired U.S. Army Maj. Matthew Bachinski in Edgefield, South Carolina.
The LED-lit balloon was one of about 200 launched by the city Veterans Day evening.
The balloons had LED lights placed inside and a card attached which read “This Balloon Was Launched From Snellville, Georgia.” The cards also held a space for the name of a veteran being honored, and a request to let organizers know when and where the balloon was found.
