Two posts on Tyrone’s Planning Commission are open for application.

The five-member board has two-year alternating terms, and this month Posts 2 and 4, held by current Vice Chairman Dia Hunter and Scott Bousquet, respectively, are expiring. Both incumbents can reapply, but the town is accepting other applications also. The commission makes recommendations to the Town Council about rezonings, variances and ordinance text amendments, and also represents the citizens during the approval of commercial building and landscaping plans and subdivision plats. Members work with town staff on matters related to the comprehensive plan, transportation projects and special area studies planning. The commission meets at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of each month, and members receive a $75 monthly stipend. Applicants must be Tyrone residents and not hold any other public office.

The form is at www.tyrone.org/planningcommissionapplication and must be submitted by Dec. 31.
