Two new bridges are in the works for access along Lake Peachtree in Peachtree City.

City Manager Jon Rorie updated the City Council on April 19 regarding the pedestrian and golf cart crossing being built parallel to the new Lake Peachtree spillway alongside Kelly Drive/McIntosh Trail. The 161-foot-long span will cost approximately $771,000 and include decorative elements, lighting and signage. A smaller land bridge, which will provide access to the new passive park on the lake’s Spyglass Island (formerly nicknamed Snake Island), will cost approximately $200,000.

Both bridges are being funded by revenue from the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.
