Ann Rosenthal, who has served as president of the Tucker-Northlake Community Improvement District since its inception in 2013, will step down from her leadership role as of June 30. Matthew Lee, a training specialist for Southeastrans Inc., has been named the first full-time executive director of the four-year-old organization, and will assume his responsibilities July 1.

Rosenthal, a Tucker resident, was a founding member of the Tucker Formation Committee and author of the legislative strategic plan that created the Tucker CID in 2013. She later spearheaded the effort to bring the Northlake Business District into the organization, which became the Tucker Northlake CID. The CID’s mission is to increase economic value in the community by leveraging business and government investment in the district in order to improve accessibility, connect people and places, facilitate robust economic development and provide a clean, attractive and safe community for all who live, work and play in the Tucker-Northlake area.

Under Rosenthal’s leadership, the CID guided the development of a strategic Master Plan for the area, which outlined a vision for transportation infrastructure and land use, provided recommendations for improved multi-modal transportation and connectivity between business and residential areas and identified potential quality of life and beautification projects. A number of the recommendations identified in the Master Plan are currently underway or completed, including:

• Landscape beautification of the I-285/Lavista Road and Northlake Parkway interchanges

• Traffic light synchronization on Lawrenceville Highway and Lavista Road

• Acceleration of Georgia Department of Transportation road resurfacing projects

• Sidewalk and streetscape improvements and beautification in downtown Tucker and the Northlake Business District

• The completion of a pedestrian and bicycle safety study for Lawrenceville Highway
