A Mexican citizen wanted for murder has been deported after Fayette County police caught him driving without a license.
Federal officials said Friday that Alfredo Montalvo-Coreno, 32, was arrested in January. A fingerprint check revealed he was the subject of an Interpol warrant for a homicide committed in the Mexican State of Guanajuato in 2002.
He was turned over to Mexican law enforcement officers Thursday following his removal from the United States by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers.
Montalvo-Coreno was flown to Texas and turned over to officials from the Mexican Office of the General Attorney at the Laredo, Texas, port of entry.
