The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
Watching my neighbor's little girl run around and around his riding mower sent chills down my spine. When she's hit by a flying rock or worse, he runs over the toddler, everyone will say what a terrible tragedy. Children should not be in the yard while it's being mowed.

In mid-November, I was told by DeKalb roads and drainage they would promptly fix the pothole next to the crosswalk at the CVS on Chamblee-Tucker Road. Here it is the middle of March and they have not fixed it yet.

The best way to change things in Washington is to get a larger percentage of the people to vote. We should be able to get at least as many people to vote as use Facebook, so how about having a national PIN given out when someone registers to vote and then they can login to vote on Election Day.
The trouble with our society is that people want things to happen, but are unwilling to pay for it: infrastructure repair, safer food and drugs, more transportation options, better schools, etc. Yet, mention taxes and people come unglued. Conservative media has convinced people they can get something for nothing and then blame the liberals for overspending.
