A school’s zero tolerance policy (for anything) is actually a zero thinking policy for the school administrators. They are the ones who are paid to make decisions, and yet they use zero tolerance policies as a tool to get themselves out of having to make decisions and then be responsible for the quality of those decisions.
Fourteen students who don’t live in the district illegally play high school football and the school gets a slap on the wrist and a $1000 fine. That should really deter other schools from trying the same thing.
