Q: Who pays for NBA Championship rings? Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said he didn’t want to pay for his players’ rings.

William McKee Jr., Flowery Branch

A: Cuban still plans to reward his players, but wants to start a new tradition, rewarding them with something other than rings. Various media outlets reported that Cuban hasn't revealed his ideas to replace the rings. "Part of the fact is that it irks the hell out of me that you go into towns where teams have won a ring or won a championship and you know the ball boys, the towel boys, everybody has got a ring," Cuban told 105.3 The Fan in Dallas. "It kind of deflates the value and the impact, so I don't know exactly what we are going to do, but we are going to try to change the game." Traditionally, the team or team owners are responsible for rings.

Ed Burnett, Marietta

A: Home buyers must meet these requirements, according to the Atlanta Habitat for Humanity: show good credit, a consistent payment history on debts, and no bankruptcies in the last four years, and provide steady income for the past two years that falls within established guidelines. They also must make a $750 good-faith deposit and low monthly payments, which typically average less than $650, Sarah Fedota, communications consultant for Atlanta Habitat, told Q&A on the News in an email.
