Q: A recent AJC article reported that former Kennesaw State University student Jessica Colotl will have her false swearing charge dismissed if she successfully completes a pretrial diversion program, but what is the status of her deportation case?

—Michelle Hutchinson, Marietta

A: Colotl is in the U.S. under legal status provided by Immigration and Customs Enforcement through a grant of deferred action, her attorney, Charles H. Kuck with Kuck Immigration Partners in Atlanta, told Q&A on the News. This expires May 2012.

Q: A few years ago, there was a story about neighbors seeing a pickup truck in a driveway with the passenger’s headless body hanging out of the window. What was the outcome of this case?

—R.J. Neunaber, Snellville

A: Marietta's John Kemper Hutcherson pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide and was sentenced to five years in prison in May 2005. Hutcherson was legally drunk while driving from a Marietta bar to his home on Aug. 29, 2004. He drove his GMC truck off Canton Road and hit a telephone pole support wire that decapitated longtime friend Francis Daniel Brohm, who reportedly felt sick and was leaning out of the window. Hutcherson drove nearly 12 miles with Brohm's headless body next to him and parked his truck in his driveway with the body partially hanging out the passenger window. He went to bed, apparently unaware of Brohm's death, according to an AJC article. A neighbor saw Brohm's body the next morning and called police, who found Brohm's severed head at the accident site.
