One of the most dangerous situations can be not having enough lighting in a public area to navigate with a car, scooter or on foot. Craig Kimbrough alerted us to a hazard in the heart of the city.
“Can you help us get this fixed? The lamp post at 200 North Highland Ave. was taken out in an accident over a year ago. It needs to be replaced, as what remains is a pedestrian hazard, especially at night with reduced lighting,” he wrote.
We sent Kimbrough’s request to the city and will keep you updated.

Ronda Karelitz is concerned over a failing road in DeKalb County that has been a problem for years.
“Katie Kerr Drive was paved several years ago, but several areas in the pavement have failed. It seems that the pavement on one lane of traffic has cracks and that the material has slipped and ridden over the other side,” she wrote.
Karelitz said cars going in that direction swerve out of the lane to avoid the crack.
“Additionally, the increased truck traffic using Katie Kerr as a cut-through has caused the noise factor to increase, especially after dark when people are sleeping. It appears that several patches are all that is needed to take care of this problem,” she added.
We sent the item to DeKalb County to see if it can be fixed soon.
