Jagdish Gajjar hopes there is a fix for a busy neighborhood road that is causing traffic issues in Cobb County.

“Off Bells Ferry Road, there is Kathryn Drive and opposite to it Big Shanty Road,” Gajjar wrote.

He said it’s a busy intersection, and due to a recent entry and exit to toll road on Big Shanty Road, traffic has increased on Big Shanty Road.

“When we have to enter to Bells Ferry Road from Big Shanty Road or enter/exit from Kathryn Drive, vehicles have to wait a long time as traffic on Bells Ferry is continuous,” he added.

Gajjar suggested a traffic signal or a stop signal.

“Right now, there is no center lane so that a vehicle can enter there and wait to merge. It is very risky to merge on Bells Ferry Road either from Big Shanty Road or the Kathryn Drive neighborhood,” he added.

We sent the information to Cobb County and will let you know when we get a response back from officials.

A reader sent us a question about an issue that has been simmering in the eastern Coweta town for years.

“Several years ago, the DOT built a roundabout at the intersection of Ga. Highways 16 and 54. It’s not the typical size of a roundabout. It’s much smaller, and we were told a bigger one would be built,” the reader said.

Now, it’s years later, and the reader is still navigating the smaller roundabout and wonders when the replacement roundabout is going to occur. The reader said it’s also often difficult for large trucks to navigate the narrow confines of the roundabout.

We sent the issue to the DOT and will keep you updated.
