Item: Atlanta (Fulton)

A reader is frustrated over a busy intersection in the city that has been a problem for more than 30 years.

The reader said it’s a “nightmare” to try and make a left or right turn from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the intersection of Bolton Road and Northwest Drive. The reader said the Coretta Scott King Young Women’s Leadership Academy and a new neighborhood were added to the area. Because of the growth, the intersection has become more problematic.

“No changes have been made to this intersection in 30 years, and a light is needed,” the reader added.

We sent the item to city officials and will let you know when it is fixed.

A reader was driving down Redwine Road in south Fayette County and noticed that parts of the busy county road had new pavement, while some still needed a fresh coat of asphalt. The road provides a connection from Fayetteville to south Peachtree City and eastern Coweta County.

We checked in with the Fayette County government and got a quick response from the county’s manager.

“We recently completed mill patching to correct bad areas that developed over the winter. The city of Fayetteville is resurfacing 2.24 miles of Redwine Road and Beauregard Boulevard within the city limits. That project is part of the FY 2020 federal aid resurfacing project. We expect to award a contract for construction later this summer. We can’t say yet if the work will be completed this fall or next spring,” wrote the county’s manager Steve Rapson.
