Debra Murphy hopes that a busy sidewalk will soon be repaired in Midtown.
“The sidewalk at the corner of 7th Street and Charles Allen Drive has looked like this for a couple of months. The city ‘fixed’ the dilapidated sidewalk there during the summer, but a water line was broken in the process … and water streamed out of there for days. Residents went without water for a day, too. That issue was finally fixed, but the sidewalk was left as you can see in the attached photo,” she wrote.
We sent her item to the city and will keep you updated on the situation.

Catherine Rogers hopes something can be done about a busy road in DeKalb County.
“Fairoaks Road in DeKalb County was torn up between LaVista Road and Oak Grove Road in 2013 to replace water lines. It was supposed to be finished by spring of 2014 but was not. The work resumed in late 2014 and was supposed to be complete by spring of 2015,” she wrote.
Rogers said there has been no work done for months. “Fairoaks has been repaved but not re-striped from LaVista Road to Moonstone Court but has not been repaved from Moonstone Court to Oak Grove Road. What is the reason for the delay and when can we expect this road to be finished?”

Sherry Marsh is concerned over a water leak at University Drive and Spring Valley Lane.
She said she reported the water leak in early September.
“After nearly two months, some workers came out last Saturday and after spending two hours they made the leak much worse and then left it gushing water. When I called the 311 line today they said they didn’t have the right parts to fix it so the ticket remains open until then - no set repair date was given,” she said.
