Take to task for Feb. 22

Mack Jones hopes something can be done about a broken water pipe at 1000 Reunion Place in Atlanta.

“I live at 455 Celebration Court SW which is behind and downhill from the address with the leak. The pipe has been spewing water for more than three weeks. The water flows downhill through another neighbor’s yard and has been cascading down my driveway for more than three weeks,” said Jones.

He said the problem has been reported to the city and has been told that the city is awaiting delivery of a part that is necessary to fix the leak, but he doesn’t quite understand why it takes so long for a part to arrive to the city.

We sent the item to the city and will keep you updated.

Gail Collier is frustrated over a clogged drain on Ponce DeLeon Avenue at West Peachtree Street.

“When it rains, it is like a creek on Ponce de Leon Avenue, causing our feet to get wet when we cross the street. I have reported this twice to 311,” she said.

She was told her first request was closed, because the drain was clear and there could be a possible water leak. But still, the drain remain clogged. With the second request, she asked that she be called so she could point out the drain, but never got a response.

We sent the item to the city to see if the process could be expedited.

Fixed! Cobb County

Last week, we told you about Charlotte Mills concern over a dangerous intersection in Cobb County.

“I have seen several wrecks as a result of drivers turning left (south) on South Atlanta Road from Plant Atkinson/Log Cabin in Smyrna/Vinings. I think a sign or a turn arrow reminding drivers that left turns must yield would help. I was almost hit today and it wasn’t the first time,” Mills wrote.

The county responded and said they had reviewed the request and a “Left Turn Yield on Green Ball” sign has been installed.
