New item…and Fixed! Atlanta

Frank Fuerst wrote us about a troublesome pothole.

“There has been a pothole that spans both lanes where Armour Drive goes under the railroad tracks. It’s been there for months. Dozens of cement trucks drive through here every day, but so do thousands of people working in the new Sweetwater District and those visiting the brewery itself. Cars have to come to a complete stop to navigate through this spot. Many of us who here have complained to the city, but nothing gets done,” he wrote.

We got a quick response from the city.

“The sewer line has been repaired at this location, and Department of Public Works will remove the steel plate and fix the pothole this week,” said city officials.

New item-DeKalb County

Thom Arrendale is not happy about a road.

“I have been writing and calling DeKalb County for several years about the horrible conditions of Old Covington Highway from the Rockdale County line to Turner Hill Road, near the Mall at Stonecrest,” wrote Arrendale. He said there have been at least two deaths due to deep ruts all along the road’s eroded shoulder over the past few years with no actions to fill.

“Most recently, now going on two months, excavation in the road to repair a utility line has yielded a seriously hazardous situation of a large metal plate that has no warnings posted in a curve, and people are swerving at the last minute trying to avoid damage to their vehicles,” he added.

New item-Atlanta

Jane Gole is looking for help to repair a leak at Rock Springs Road and Monroe Drive .

“This was first reported back in June. All they have done is create a bunch of service requests with no action to date, nor have they told us where we are on the list or given us any feedback or reassurance whatsoever. We have sent pictures, we have told them it is getting significantly worse, creating additional icing hazards (we have one fall already), a sink hole is developing, a river is flowing,” she wrote.

We sent the item to the city and will keep you updated.
