Collapsed drains are giving one resident fits.

“There is a stormwater drain on Peachtree Street in the lane closest to the sidewalk just prior to the entrance to the 2300 Peachtree retail development that has been in a state of collapse for months.

The metal grates in the drain (there are actually two adjoining drains) have dropped well below the surface of the street, creating a deep hole that drivers must avoid by moving slightly into the middle lane, or risk damage to their tires. My good friend’s parents were recently visiting from Alabama, and not having prior knowledge of the dangerous situation, drove across the collapsed drain and punctured a tire and ruined a wheel,” wrote Melissa Trimble.

We sent her issue to the city’s water department and will keep you posted.

Jack Yoset hopes a sign can face a dangerous situation.

“For some reason, when driving east from Cobb Parkway on Windy Hill Road, there is no roadside arrow sign for the ramp to southbound Interstate 75. I drive through this area going east on Windy Hill a few times each month, and often encounter other drivers slowing and looking for the unmarked turn onto I-75 south,” he wrote.

A resident is getting frustrated with the lack of action on a water issue on Dover Road.

“Another work week has come and gone, making it 57 days since the service order was issued, and still no activity on our street,” wrote Dave Kelly.

Kelly submitted the request to the city’s watershed department about a leak at 2804 Dover Road in September. He has received emails from the department, but no action yet.

We contacted the department and will let you know when it is fixed.
