Update-Cobb County
In March, we told you about Jeff Karcher’s concern over clogged drainage culverts on Columns Drive in Cobb County. We got a response back from the county.
“Our crews clean the area often, however, part of the area that is referred to by Mr Karcher is on privately-owned property and the property owner has to do their part. Our DOT maintenance has received 21 requests to clear that area from April 2016 to Feb. 28, 2017 and we have been diligent in responding to their inquiries,” said a county spokesperson.

David Rogie hopes something can be done about the timing of a traffic light at a busy Atlanta intersection.
“The timing of the lights at the Freedom Parkway/Boulevard intersection is creating a major traffic hazard. Drivers heading east on Freedom Parkway and turning left onto Boulevard are getting stuck in the middle of the intersection because the light farther down Boulevard stays red,” he wrote. Rogie said he watched one Sunday as cars heading west on Freedom Parkway to the connector sat through three light cycles and not one car made it through the intersection.
“Frustrated drivers then were using the left turn lane to try and zig-zag around the blocking cars. This is also causing traffic on Freedom Parkway to backup all the way back to the Carter Center,” he added.
We sent the item to the city to see if the issue can be addressed quickly.
