The Suwanee City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to approve $805,048 for patching and resurfacing of about four miles of city streets. The contract goes to low-bidder Allied Paving Contractors Inc. of Pendergrass. Eight contractors bid for the work.

The project generally consists of milling, patching, resurfacing, shoulder work, grassing, and pavement markings on city streets along with a short section of milling and patching on Smithtown Road and correction of water ponding on a small section of Station Center Boulevard.

Resurfacing projects include Cherokee Trail, Mohawk Trail, White Sands Way, Maple Terrace Drive, Green Pine Way, Morning Top Place, Morning Glen Court, Morning Top Court, Suwanee Creek Court, Camber Well Lane, Pine Manor Bluff, Paddle Wheel Court, Mill View Court, Grand Vista Approach, Red Rock Point, and Red Rock Court along with a section of King Street.

Suwanee will pay for its portion of the project using SPLOST funds. The Georgia Department of Transportation is providing up to $162,116 as part of the 2017 Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant Program.

Tentative schedule for substantial completion is June.
