The Suwanee City Council recently voted to establish a capital budget in the Master Plan Implementation budget for $439,610 to fund building improvements to the Swiftwater Park Drive Public Works building.

Current estimates for the building improvements are $518,410. During the Fiscal Year 2019 budget process, the city budgeted $78,800 to the Public Facilities Enhancement Fund for Public Works building improvements. Suwanee also transferred $130,000 during fourth quarter Fiscal Year 2018 to the Master Plan Implementation Fund for future renovation projects for the building. These funds were transferred but not formally budgeted. The recently approved budget adjustment formally establishes a capital budget in the Master Plan Implementation budget for $439,610. The combined budget for Public Works building improvements is $518,410.

Suwanee purchased the Swiftwater Park Public Works building for $2,632,188 using a combination of 2017 SPLOST ($2,313,100) and local funds ($319,087).

Suwanee Public Works Division’s responsibilities include grounds maintenance, road and sidewalk maintenance, street sign installation, fleet maintenance, snow and ice control, water treatment and distribution system maintenance, and litter control.
