Sugar Hill underwent a change in leadership in January when Council Member Curtis Northrup was selected to serve as the city’s next Mayor Pro Tem. The Sugar Hill city council selects one individual to serve a two-year term as mayor pro tem in the mayor’s absence. The position rotates through the members of the council. Northrup is stepping into the position following Council Member Brandon Hembree’s successful term.

Mayor Pro Tem Northrup is proud to play an integral role in the city’s growth saying, “It was quite an honor to be chosen by my fellow council members to serve our city as Mayor Pro Tem. It will be a privilege to represent the citizens of Sugar Hill, promote the vision of what our city is and can be, and work in tandem with the mayor, council and management to make us the best we can be.”

Mayor Pro Tem Northrup and his family have lived in Sugar Hill since 2007 and he has served on the city council since 2010.
