Emory University student Jenna Kingsley has been staying in her on-campus dormitory during the storm and using her time off to catch up on work.

“I’d rather be in bed with a book,” the 20-year-old said. “But professors aren’t going to slow down the pace of a class just for a few snow days.”

She said she has been meeting up with friends in study lounges in her residence hall and coordinating dinner plans with other students.

While she didn’t do much to prepare for the storm beforehand, she said she isn’t too worried. Emory’s dining halls are open for lunch and dinner.

“I’m from Florida, so I guess I don’t really understand the gravity of an ice storm,” she said.
