The Woodstock City Council has approved downtown street closures for the Taste of Woodstock community festival.
Market Street between Mill and Oak Streets, and Elm Street at the parking lot entrance, will be closed from noon to midnight Thursday, April 25, to cover set-up and break-down times, according to the request by event organizer Visit Woodstock.
About 2,000 people and 20 food vendors in tents are expected for the Taste, set for 5 to 9 p.m. on the Elm Street Cultural Arts Village Event Green – using the same layout as the Farmers Market and Trailfest, staff said in a report to the council.
The Woodstock trolley will provide transportation from off-site parking at City Center and Chattahoochee Technical College, according to the event application.
The Taste benefits the Woodstock High School band program and kicks off Woodstock Restaurant Week, April 28-May 5. Admission is free. Food tickets cost 50 cents apiece (items are priced between one and eight tickets), with packages starting at $5. Information: https://bit.ly/2TrQBoM
