Qualifying took place last week in Stockbridge for November’s special election to fill the unexpired term of former mayor Tim Thompson, who resigned in December. According to a statement from City Hall, five candidates qualified: Partha Chakraborty, Regina Lewis-Ward, Judy B. Neal, Houston Nelson and Alphonso Thomas. Ward and Thomas are former City Council members who lost their re-election bids last November. The winner of the election will serve through the end of 2017. Information: www.cityofstockbridge.com.
