Stockbridge will debut a virtual series on food Tuesday as part of its centennial celebration.

The Henry County city is launching TastyTuesdays, a three-week series featuring area restaurants and live entertainment at 7 p.m. Tuesday on its Facebook page. The virtual events will also include prizes for viewers who submit family photographs with handwritten or computer-generated signs celebrating the city’s 100th birthday.

"This unique virtual series truly captures the essence of our community,” Stockbridge Events Manager Cie Cie Wilson McGhee said in a statement. "Due to COVID-19 and its serious health implications, we obviously can't hold our traditional in-person Tasty Tuesdays but this virtual experience has special appeal that will impress our community members.”

Stockbridge leaders had planned for participating restaurants to showcase their food in person to residents during centennial celebrations, but had to adjust after the coronavirus forced the cancellation of big events in which people can’t socially distance for their safety.

The city will turn 100 in August and is finalizing other events to celebrate its birthday.

Those interested in submitting photographs for the weekly TastyTuesday prizes should email their submissions to  to tastytuesdays@cityofstockbridge-ga.gov by the following Wednesday at noon. Winners will be announced each Thursday afternoon on the city's social media outlets.

“We encourage everyone to witness history with us as innovation and food meet for our Virtual Series for Tasty Tuesdays,” McGhee said.
