The Stockbridge City Council voted at its Sept. 9 regular meeting to approve a $2,120,000 bid for the construction of a new public works facility.

The contract was awarded to Pellicano Construction Company and the funds will come from the city’s SPLOST account. The work includes the “demolition of three buildings and associated utilities; removal of asphalt and concrete pavement; and construction of a one-story building with office spaces, a training room, and conference room,” according to a city staff report.

The new building will be located near the current facility on Taylor Drive, just off East Atlanta Road across from Gardner Park.
