The Lilburn City Council recently approved construction of three speed tables near Providence Christian Academy. As part of their athletic complex expansion, the school will construct two speed tables on Wynne Russell Road and one on Shady Drive to help facilitate pedestrian crossing and safety.
The tables will measure 22 feet. The table is up to four inches high and 10 feet across the full width of the street. There are 6-foot slopes from the table.
The typical process of approval for addition of speed tables involves a petition of residents on subdivision streets. Since these are not subdivision streets, the request fell before the city council. Providence Christian Academy will install and maintain the speed tables.
