Snellville Councilwoman Diane Krause stepped off the council dais for the last time Monday to say “goodbye” to a standing ovation. With her four-year term completed, Krause decided not to seek re-election.

“It has been an honor to serve you citizens of Snellville,” she said. “A pleasure to represent you at the many seminars, economic developments, functions, classes and social events I have attended in your name. Thank you for trusting me to initiate polices, ordinances and alerts to always keep you and the city safe and protected.”

Krause, who will spend more time with her family, has been instrumental in creating and promoting programs to keep residents safe including the Code Red mobile alert service, the Solicitation Ordinance and most recently, the Continuity of Operations Plan - an emergency plan for the city’s government buildings.
